A Great NAS for Content Creators |
Lorenzo Nadalini is a professional landscape photographer from Italy. His dream has always been to explore and capture special moments. After many years he continues to devote time and energy researching the best ways to shoot photos and apply modern post-processing techniques for landscape photography and more. His biggest issues are work efficiency and storage space. Lorenzo often generates as many as 500 raw images at 90-100 MB each. He saves his pictures to his local SSD and then manually copies them to a slow and very old two bay NAS.

The age of his current NAS makes this a long and tedious process and Lorenzo wants to look for an upgrade that could handle thousands of RAW files quickly, is stable and is power efficient.

A high performance four bay Nimbustor 4 quickly caught the eye of Lorenzo and was snapped up. Lorenzo configured his Nimbustor 4 with four 4 TB WD Red Pro hard drives in RAID 5. Under this configuration, he has 12 TB of space, which is big enough for his needs at the moment and his SSD remains mostly empty which keeps his SSD running as fast as possible. The Nimbustor 4 definitely has been the right choice for Lorenzo’s needs as it allows him to organize and store his files by quickly creating instant copies of his photos. Lorenzo chose the ASUSTOR Nimbustor 4 because of its powerful and versatile features. The 2.5-Gigabit Ethernet ports allow him to reach much higher speeds than classic Gigabit ports and transfer files at up to more than double the speeds.
